Museum in Motion 6 spotlights Deepak Anand, an Indian Buddhist pilgrimage explorative interpreter who has spent the last 15 years encouraging the revival of Buddhist pilgrimage routes and also documenting and uncovering lost or little-remembered Buddhist practices and monuments. In this talk, Deepak suggests the time has come for us to move away from the archaeological tourism that has largely defined how pilgrims and visitors experience Lumbini, towards a more inclusive and participatory form of tourism that emphasises pilgrimage and rituals.
